Loot the Room?

Loot The Room helps DMs run better games, and gives them fun stuff to do it with.

Loot The Room is run by Chris Bissette, a writer from the UK. I’m on Twitter as @pangalactic. I have a Patreon page, should you be inclined to support me. Tiers start at $1 a month and I have a bunch of rewards available.

Update Schedule

  • Monday Maps. Every Monday I’ll put up a new map. Any additional goodies beyond just the map will vary depending on how busy I am. For the most part these posts will be a map and a little bit of flavour/background information – but I’d like to try and get at least one fully written-up adventure here a month (even if they’re short). I can’t promise that every month though, so I’m just going to commit to providing a map a week. Anything else that goes with it is a bonus. Maps are provided with and without grids – for player + GM specific maps, and high-res printable versions, check out my Patreon.
  • Stat Boost. Wednesday is Stat Boost day. Stat Boost is everything that isn’t a map, from long form articles, to random tables, to…well, everything else. This is the stuff you can drop into your game to make it awesome. If there’s anything you’d like to see, let me know in the comments.
  • Friday Fight NightThe journal of my ongoing campaign. Told from my perspective as the DM, you’ll get to see me plan adventures, make mistakes, frantically cover for those mistakes, and hopefully learn from them. In giving you an inside perspective on how I run my game, I hope you’ll be able to learn from my mistakes so that you don’t have to make them. And, as a bonus, I’ll throw in a map to go with each week’s adventure.

As far as is possible, all posts go up at 11am GMT.

Who is Chris and why should I care?

I’ve been playing tabletop RPGs since the early ’90s. I started with AD&D before moving on to systems like GURPS, Palladium, various White Wolf games, Pathfinder, and the like, but for some reason I always found myself back with D&D.

Early last year, after a few years without playing, I discovered Geek & Sundry’s Critical Role and my love for D&D was reignited. Playing regularly again forced me to pull out my old notes and maps, and while most of them will never see use again I decided I’d like to share them, along with the things I’m creating for my game.

Feel free to use any of the resources you find on this site in your games, and please let me know how they work (or don’t work) in your games. You’re also free to reference any of the material provided on this site in your own works on DM’s Guild, providing you provide a link back to this website in your product.

If you like what I’m doing here and would like to see more, please check out my DMs Guild titles.

You can find me on Twitter @pangalactic or email me at chris@loottheroom.uk.

Money Stuff

This site costs me money to run. I hate seeing adverts, so I don’t put them on the site. Instead the site is funded by my sales on DMs Guild, through affiliate links from Amazon and the DMs Guild, and – with a little luck – through my new Patreon campaign. I do not receive money in exchange for promoting specific titles; everything I recommend in the Best of DMs Guild posts is a product I have paid for (unless otherwise noted in the review), used, and liked enough to recommend to you.
