BLOG – Savage Artwork

I opened my email yesterday to a message from Jeff Stevens – who you may remember as the brain behind Encounters in the Savage Frontier. When he was putting the book together he commissioned Daniel F. Walthall to produce an illustration for one of my encounters. The idea for the illustration came late in the production process, though, and so it wasn’t included in the book on release.

It’s now been updated, because the illustration is done. And the illustration is awesome.

That’s Daniel’s (who goes by @axebane on Twitter) take on a Shambling Mound for my swamp encounter. If you follow me on Twitter you’ll know I’m not shy about how much I love his artwork, and it’s an honour to have him draw something for a thing that I wrote.

Encounters in the Savage Frontier recently became a DMs Guild Silver Bestseller, and was chosen as the DMs Guild pick on episode 150 of The Tome Show podcast. It’s a really great book, and I’m really proud to have been a part of it. If you haven’t already, you should go get yourself a copy right now.

And while we’re on the subject of bestsellers – Dark Deeds is only a couple of paid sales away from becoming a Copper Bestseller. That’s pretty good going for a Pay What You Want title, so huge thanks to everybody who’s bought a copy.
