It’s my aim to shed some light on those undiscovered gems, and to give you some fun new things to use in your games that you might not otherwise be aware of.

This month was a big one for the Guild as a whole, with the release of the Wayfinder’s Guide To Eberron unleashing a torrent of Eberron-specific creations onto the site. Unfortunately I know next to nothing about Eberron, so most of that material was lost on me. If you’re looking for picks of the best new Eberron releases, I’m afraid you won’t find them here! Not this month, at least.

I’d also be remiss if I didn’t mention Loot The Room’s latest release, the College of Cadence. I’m obviously wildly biased, but I really love this new bard college that Matt Sanders and Cody Faulk have put together, and I’d love it if you checked it out. It’s only $1.95, so really you’ve got no excuse (unless you hate bards. But you don’t, right?)

Welcome to June’s DMs Guild roundup! Every month I gather together some of the best new releases from the DMs Guild. You won’t find many bestsellers here; the huge amount of new content appearing daily means that lots of great work slips through the cracks. It’s my aim to shed some light on those undiscovered gems, and to give you some fun new things to use in your games that you might not otherwise be aware of.

This month saw a lot of tie-in releases for Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes, which is unsurprising. For me, at least, that’s a good thing, since I really enjoy planes-related material. I’ve tried to include a variety of products, though, since I know that isn’t everybody’s cup of tea.

There were also a lot of new products released with Print on Demand options this month, which is something I’m really excited about. Where those options are available for products I’ve featured here I’ve tried to remember to mention it in the review, but all of the links go to the PDF versions since they’re the ones that I’ve read.

Welcome to the DMs Guild roundup! I took some time off, but now I’m back and bringing you my picks from the new releases in April and May. (You can find out a little more about the break I just took here).

In these posts I gather together some of the best new releases from the DMs Guild. You won’t find many bestsellers here; the huge amount of new content appearing daily means that lots of great work slips through the cracks. It’s my aim to shed some light on those undiscovered gems, and to give you some fun new things to use in your games that you might not otherwise be aware of.

Before we get started, I have an Honourable Mention this month – Chaotic Evil Compilation #1 by Rafael Martins. I didn’t include this in the main lineup, because it’s a pair of adventures (well, an adventure and a quarter of an adventure, since the second half is a preview of a separate work) and I haven’t had a chance to run either of them. The main thing that drew me to this, and that made me want to bring some attention to it, is the the layout. I loved reading through this, partially because of the landscape orientation (which I’m really glad to see more people embracing), but also because the faux-real-magazine style of presentation is executed brilliantly and really made me feel like I was flicking through an old (albeit short) issue of Dungeon.

Welcome to March’s DMs Guild roundup! Every month I gather together some of the best new releases from the DMs Guild. It’s my aim to shed some light on those undiscovered gems, and to give you some fun new things to use in your games that you might not otherwise be aware of.

There are a couple of releases this month that I want to draw your attention to, though they’ve done well enough already that I didn’t want to bump anything from the main list to make space for these. Think of these as Honourable Mentions, of a sort.

First there’s Monsters Without Borders, a Pay What You Want title that serves as a preview for the upcoming Monsters of the Guild project that I’m very excited about. This is a selection of some of the bost monsters in that larger book, with the added incentive that all the creators involved in this one are donating their royalties to Doctors Without Borders.

Second up is The Mines of Chult by Jeff C. Stevens, Shawn Merwin, and Tony Petrecca. Jeff essentially invented to Encounters format on the DMs Guild, and he’s teamed up with two of the best adventure writers around to present a host of encounters you can drop into any adventure that journeys down into the mines. I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I was happy to pay the $6.95 asking price after I’d looked through it. It’s already a Silver Bestseller, and for good reason.

My new city supplement Cities: Shadepoint is currently available from DriveThruRPG under Pay What You Want, and two of my releases (Breaker of Chains and Trinkets Too) are included in A Fistful of Coppers, a massive collection of 26 DMs Guild bestsellers (which has just become a Copper bestseller itself).

This month I’ve found myself going back to the kinds of things that I always enjoy – namely, trinkets and paper miniatures. I’ve tried to make sure that I provide you with some variety, though; I even got a chance to review a couple of adventures this time around, which is a rarity. I’m also pleased to see that fewer quality products are being listed as PWYW titles. I firmly belive the people doing good work should be rewarded for that work, so it’s nice to see more and more community creators having the confidence to price their products appropriately.

You won’t find many bestsellers here; the huge amount of new content appearing daily means that lots of great work slips through the cracks. It’s my aim to shed some light on those undiscovered gems, and to give you some fun new things to use in your games that you might not otherwise be aware of.

I originally planned to combine this post with a look back at the things I’ve featured over the past year. I’m really interested to see how they’ve done, whether the writers of the things I featured back in the beginnings of these posts are still releasing things, all that sort of thing. This post is already late, though, and that would simply make things later, so I’m going to do it as a seperate post at some point this weekend. For now, we’ll stick to the normal format.

This month’s roundup is a little leaner than past entries. I don’t know whether I was in a bad mood, my standards have gone up, or it was simply a slow month for great releases, but out of the mountain of products that I looked at this month there were only a handful that I can say I really loved.
