Named for the sound the wind makes through the tops of the trees that surround this quiet forest grove, the Well of Sighs is a long-forgotten altar to a dead god. Far beneath the surface of the water, near the bottom of the square well, is a mythril portcullis set into the wall of the well. Beyond it lies a flooded chamber containing an item of ancient power.
I’m still developing my technique for isometric maps – particularly on elements like the well shaft that runs down the middle of this map. I’m not entirely happy with this approach, and I’ll probably revist this map again in future. It might be a problem that I need to solve with colour, but I’m determined to make my black and white isometric maps work. Let me know what you think, and if you have any suggestions for ways I can improve on this in future!
