Hi Jason,

There’s still a fail state without the tower. The tower represents your ship’s integrity, but the Kings in the deck represent the creature getting closer to you. If you draw 4 Kings at any point, you succumb to the creature and fail.

It’s a less intense game, but failure is still the most likely outcome.

Have you thought of ways to still fail without the tower? I would mostly play this at night with my family asleep, and having a tower fall wouldn’t be great. I’ve been kicking around a die roll, but it doesn’t have that same sense of building dread.
